Background
Somkhit Singsong wrote the song, “Man and Buffalo” (Khon Kub Kaiy) to compensate his homesick mood when a time he was far away from home to pursue his higher education the capital city many, many ten years ago after completed the primary school of Sap Dang Village in 1961.
He enrolled grade 5-7 at Wat Chaiyapruek Mala, Talingchan Sub-District, Talingchan District, Thonburi Province. That 5th grader was the pioneer group after the Mathayomsuksa 1 (Mor. 1) has been abolished. Studied junior high school, grade 8-10 at Wat Noi Nai School, then senior high school majoring Arts Subjects, grade 11-12 at Suwannaram Withaykom School, Bankok Noi District, Thonburi Province and entranced the higher education level to Independent Journalism and Mass Communications Department, Thammasat University in 1969.
The song, “Man and Buffalo” was written in 1973, the year that students and people of a hundred thousand to millions got together and marched along Rachadamnern Road protested and expelled dictator trrach that expanded to be the 14th October Crisis which was first a tragic but ended up the great joyful day when the dictator trract was definitely destroyed.
Somkhit Singsong turned away from the capital city ever since the 14th October Crisis ended up to now this year 2009 already 36 years and this 36 year spending life with people in rural area while buffaloes are loaded on trucks moving towards meat ball factories nearby Bangkok capital city and passing loads of trucks carrying steel buffaloes importing a cross the ocean from Japan to be placed underneath villagers’ houses instead.
Steel buffalo takes fuel consumption; therefore, its owner must have sufficient money to pay for it. Day by day, fuel price is going up and up and overwhelming all that caused higher cost of agricultural production as well.
Previously we use buffalo to work on farm. It’s food is commonly grass, that needs no cost. Because if good fertile land, grass grows greenish itself and buffalo shit makes good fertile land.
Commencing from the rapid development era, buffalo population has been less and less. Agricultural activity uses mechanical tool as production base together with chemicals maintenance of plant and animal, the production image should sound good, but in reality it is opposite.
The stunning result at last is debt and quality of life is worse and worse. Therefore, bringing buffalo back in rice field should be another way to lower and cut down debts and bring about better life quality by using sufficient economy theory.
Principle
Follow to sufficient economy theory under the king’s practices;
Re-use buffalo labor force in replacement of mechanical tool and technology system. This will cut down cost of production and turn up more profitability.
Objectives
1. To promote sufficient economy theory under the king’s practices.
2. To acquire buffalo labor force for agricultural production in compensation to fuel energy which is becoming more expensive and severe in exploration.
How to operate
1. Set up the fund working committee to establish “Man and Buffalo Foundation”.
2. Open a saving account of the fund.
3. Campaign and request for donations.
4. Operate under the law and establish “Man and Buffalo Foundation”.

Commencing from now to October 27th, 2010 which is Somkhit Singsong’s 60th Birthday.
